The Gurudwara at Paschim Vihar
I have to say that I wasn't initially keen but dutifully went. I have also to say that it was a most fantastic experience and very pleased I was to join in.
FRIDAY 11 NOVEMBER
I am off to Dubai today and have a gentle morning before leaving just after midday. It was probably a bit of a sight as I dragged myself and luggage across the Outer Ring Road as I simply will not pay the inflated rates which one Auto driver wanted.
I was still at the Airport in ample time and had another very comfortable and enjoyable flight to Dubai and took the metro to the Chelsea Gardens Apartments Hotel near IBN Battuta Mall. I have stayed there previously and was impressed with the size of the apartment. This time, however, I am given an apartment twice the

size: it has a vast lounge cum kitchen area, an enormous bedroom, two bathrooms and two TVs. As I had got a staff rate from a special discounted offer rate, I wasn't surprised that they wanted my ID and that a few eyes were raised.
SATURDAY 12 NOVEMBER
I had read that Hamilton and Button would be signing autographs at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix but I had an epic journey to the circuit so arrived a little too late only to find that it had been cancelled. I had to change money at the IBN Battuta Mall and so was lucky to make the last bus of the morning to Abu Dhabi simply because it was late. Well, I didn't make it because it was then full so they laid on another bus and I eventually got to the circuit around three hours later.
It is an impressive circuit and the ticket, however expensive, did have good views. Naturally, a lot of my attempted photos missed their target but I did have some adequate ones to show for it. The changing colours of the Yas Hotel were fascinating as day became night.
