I went onto Caernarfon which was again shown up beautifully due to the nice weather but carelessly I left my trusted hiking stick on a bench there and, although I was back reasonably shortly afterwards, it had gone. I've left it around before but my luck ran out this time however I already have a new one and chose one with a compass which has alarmed a few people as I have not the faintest clue on how to use a compass. There is time to try to learn before going to Switzerland and it will be a start if I can get out of my head that, what is in front of me, is not necessarily north... Caernarfon is a delightful place, dominated by its castle and there is a commemorative stone plaque of Prince Charles's investiture there as the Prince of Wales in 1969. It is also a picturesque and colourful place.

Caernarfon
The weather turned on my journey back on Monday morning but it was an enjoyable break and, I hope some sort of preparation for more vigorous and longer walking in Switzerland. I enjoyed Bangor more this time simply because it had rained most of the time last year and everywhere looks nicer with a bit of sun.
