MATCH 18 INDIA VS. NEW ZEALAND AT TRENT BRIDGE

  • The first ODI at Trent Bridge to be abandoned without a ball bowled ensured that the two currently undefeated sides in the 2019 World Cup, remained so.

MATCH 19 ENGLAND VS. WEST INDIES AT SOUTHAMPTON

  • Joe Root became England's top centurion at the World Cup with his third century (in his tenth innings). Kevin Pietersen had previously scored two centuries.
  • Root became the second England player to score a century and take two wickets in the same World Cup match. Moeen Ali did so against Scotland in Christchurch in 2015.

MATCH 20 SRI LANKA VS. AUSTRALIA AT THE OVAL

  • Aaron Finch's 153 is the highest World Cup score by an Australian captain surpassing Ricky Ponting's undefeated 140 against India in Johannesburg in the 2003 final.
  • Finch is the third Australian captain to score a World Cup century. Ponting did so four times.
  • The partnership of 173 between Finch and Steve Smith is Australia's eighth highest at the World Cup for all wickets.
  • Nuwan Pradeep recorded Sri Lanka's second most expensive bowling figures in their World Cup history. Only Ashantha de Mel with 10-0-97-1 against West Indies at Karachi in 1987 has conceded more.
  • The stand of 115 between Dimuth Karunaratne and Kushal Perera is only Sri Lanka's fifth century partnership against Australia at the World Cup.

MATCH 21 SOUTH AFRICA VS. AFGHANISTAN AT CARDIFF

  • South Africa ended their least productive World Cup spell of five matches without a win by beating Afghanistan.
  • Imran Tahir increased his hold on the player with most four-wicket match hauls in the World Cup with his sixth such. Mitchell Starc took his fourth in the day's other game at The Oval and joins three other players to have also taken four wickets in a World Cup match on four occasions.

MATCH 22 INDIA VS. PAKISTAN AT OLD TRAFFORD

  • The opening stand of 136 between Lokesh Rahul and Rohit Sharma was the third century opening stand by a team which has lost the toss and been inserted in the 2019 World Cup.
  • The stand is the highest for any wicket for India against Pakistan at the World Cup.
  • Rohit Sharma became the second Indian batsman to score a World Cup century against Pakistan after Virat Kohli in 2015. Sharma's 140 is the highest score for India against Pakistan at the World Cup.
  • India's 336 for 5 is significantly their highest World Cup total against Pakistan beating their 300 for 7 at Adelaide in 2015.
  • India's total is their fourth highest in the World Cup after losing the toss and being inserted.
  • The stand of 104 between Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam is Pakistan's first century partnership against India at the World Cup.
  • India's 89-run victory maintains their 100% World Cup record against Pakistan. Their win is their biggest runs victory against Pakistan and they have batted first in six of the seven matches.
