England VS. Australia Second Highlights, Lord's
- Australia's 416 is the second-highest, first-innings-of-a-match total by an England opponent at Lord's after being inserted. Sri Lanka's 491 for 7 in 1984 heads the list.
- Steve Smith became the seventh non-England player to score 500 Test runs at Lord's.
- Smith became the 17th player to reach 9000 Test runs. He is the second quickest by innings (174) behind only Kumar Sangakkara (172) but the first to achieve the feat in under 100 Tests.
- Smith became the fourth non-England player to score 2000 Test runs in England. In front of him are Viv Richards, Allan Border and Don Bradman.
- Ben Duckett became the first player since Ben Stokes in 2015 to score 80 or more in both innings of a Lord's Test. Joe Root also performed the feat in the same Test as Stokes and he is the last player before Duckett to score 80 or more in both innings of a Lord's Test but without reaching a century in either.
- Stokes became the sixth number 6 to score 150 or more at Lord's. The highest such score is 168* by Clyde Walcott for West Indies in 1950.
- Stokes's innings is the second highest individual score in the fourth innings of a Lord's Test behind only Gordon Greenidge's unbeaten 214 in 1984.
- The nine sixes hit by Stokes in his second innings is the fourth-most by a captain. Wasim Akram's 12 in his 257* for Pakistan against Zimbabwe at Sheikhupura is highest. In second and third place is the England coach, Brendon McCullum.
- It is the most sixes hit in an innings at Lord's overtaking Andrew Flintoff's five against South Africa in 2003.
- Stokes's innings is the third-highest by an England captain at Lord's in a losing cause. Joe Root's 180* against India in 2021 heads the list whilst the highest by any captain is India's Vinoo Mankad's 184 in 1952.
- The 113 extras in the match is the second highest in Tests between England and Australia. The most is 122 at Old Trafford in 2005.
- The last occasion that there was only one duck in an Ashes Test where all 40 wickets fell was at Adelaide in 1936-37. There have been four such occasions but this was the first in England.
- The 29 dismissals to catches in the Test is the joint-second highest at Lord's. The England and India 1971 Test (30) is top but with the recently-concluded match equal with the England and India Test of 2014.
- One bizarre aspect of the Test is that the top scorers and best bowling figures for each time were the same for both sides as the 2019 Lord's Test between the same teams: Steve Smith (92 in 2019 and 110 in 2023); Pat Cummins (3-35 in 2019 and 3-69 in 2023); Ben Stokes (115* in 2019 and 155 in 2023) and Stuart Broad (4-65 in both 2019 and 2023)
- Australia's win is their 16th over England at Lord's. England have won 7 of the 38 matches.
