Saim Ayub became the tenth Pakistan opener to register a pair in a Test, and the third against England.
Ayub is also the ninth Pakistan opener to fall to the first ball of an innings, and fifth against England.
For their sixth time in Test history, a Pakistan side's numbers 1 to 5 inclusive failed to reach double figures. Their last occasion was against India at Kolkata in 1998-99.
The highest stand in the Pakistan first innings was by the tenth wicket pair (26). This is the fifteenth occasion by a Pakistan side that the highest stand has come from the tenth wicket, and the fourth time against England. It is also the lowest, highest-wicket stand in the same circumstances surpassing the 30 against Australia at Karachi in 2021-22.
England's first innings saw their fifth occasion against Pakistan of scoring five or more fifties in the same innings. Their highest is six at Faisalabad in 1983-84.
The same England innings saw only their fifth occasion of five players scoring fifty but none recording a century. Three of these occasions have been at Edgbaston.

Pakistan second innings 449 is the second-best recovery from a side losing their first two wickets for no runs. India's 451 for 8 declared against West Indies at Madras in 1983-84, tops the list.
The last time that an England side's numbers 5 to 11 inclusive all scored at least 15 runs each was at Headingley against West Indies in 1969. It is only England's third such occasion - the other was against Australia at Sydney in 1928-29 - whilst the feat has only happened on five previous occasions in Test history between all countries.

Ollie Robinson took 21 wickets in the series at an average of 8.76. This average is the lowest by an England bowler in a series against Pakistan (based on a minimum of 15 wickets), the previous best being Johnny Wardle (20 wickets @8.80 in 1954).
England's 3-0 series victory is their second such whitewash over Pakistan in a minimum three-match series.
