England vs. India Third Test Highlights, Lord's
- For the ninth time in Test history, the first two match totals were the same. Of this number, England have been involved on five occasions and India three. One of these occasions (at Birmingham in 1986) featured both sides. The last occasion was between England and New Zealand at Leeds in 2015. It is also the first occasion at Lord's.
- The twelve England dismissals bowled in the Test is their joint-second most. Their record is 14 against Australia at Sydney in 1886-87.
- The seven wickets (or more) bowled in England's second innings is their fourteenth occasion and third at Lord's. They have twice lost eight: vs. New Zealand at Wellington in 1950-51 and against Australia at Sydney in 1886-87.
- Jasprit Bumrah became the first Indian bowler to dismiss six players bowled in a Lord's Test. The previous best was four by R.P. Singh in 2007.
- Joe Root overtook Rahul Dravid's 210 catches in Tests to claim the record.
- Root became the first player to score 3000 Test runs against India. The next highest is Ricky Ponting with 2555.
- Root's eleventh Test century against India equals the record of Steve Smith.
- For the fifth time in his career, Root was bowled in both innings.
- For the second occasion at Lord's, a substitute wicket-keeper took three catches in an innings. Dhruv Jurel joined Tom Latham who took three catches in both innings for New Zealand vs. England in 2015.
- Washington Sundar's 4 for 22 is the fourth-best performance by a slow bowler for India at Lord's. Bishan Singh Bedi's 6 for 226 in 1974 tops the list.
- Both Washington Sundar and Bumrah took four wickets bowled in one innings, the most by any Indian bowler at Lord's.
- Only six bowlers have taken four or more wickets in an innings at Lord's where all dismissals have been bowled. Washington is the sixth such player to perform the feat.
- Lokesh Rahul became the second Indian player to score more than one century at Lord's. Dilip Vengsarkar leads the way with three.
- Harry Brook became the fifth fielder (excluding wicket-keepers) to take four catches in an innings at Lord's. He joins Sir Garfield Sobers, Marcus Trescothick (twice), Joe Root and Allan Lamb.
- Jamie Smith became the thirteenth England wicket-keeper to score 1000 Test runs.
- Ravindra Jadeja became the sixth Indian player to score four consecutive fifties (or more) against England. He joins Vijay Manjrekar, Rishabh Pant, M.L. Jaisimha, Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar.
- Jadeja became just the second Indian player after Vinoo Mankad in 1952 to score fifties in both innings of a Lord's Test.
- Jadeja's second innings 61* is the ninth-longest by balls (181) at Lord's by a number 7. David Holford's 325-ball, unbeaten 105 for West Indies in 1966 is the highest.
- India had four partnerships of 50+ in their first innings, their second such occasion at Lord's. The last occasion was the memorable 1990 Test.
- Based on the loss of the seventh wicket at 82 (or fewer), India's second-innings recovery to 170 (88 runs) is their best in England for the last three wickets surpassing the 80 runs scored (68-7 to 148) at The Oval in 2014.
- Bumrah became the fourth number 10 to twice bat for 50 or more balls in a Test innings at Lord's. He joins Norman Gifford, Dennis Lillee and Nuwan Kulasekera.
- Brydon Carse became the seventh number 9 to score a fifty at Lord's. Stuart Broad's 169 against Pakistan in 2011 is the highest.
- The 22-run result is the narrowest by runs at Lord's surpassing Australia's 43-run victory in 2023.
