MATCH 2 PAKISTAN VS. WEST INDIES AT TRENT BRIDGE

  • Pakistan's 105 all out is significantly their lowest World Cup total against West Indies, their previous lowest being 160 at Christchurch in 2015.
  • Pakistan's total is their second-lowest World Cup total after their 74 against England at Adelaide in 1992. It is also their eleventh-lowest ODI total.
  • Oshane Thomas's 4 for 27 is the best bowling performance for West Indies against Pakistan in the World Cup. The sides have met on ten previous occasions and Courtney Walsh's 4 for 40 at Lahore in 1987 was the previous best.
  • The Pakistan innings saw the eleventh occasion in a World Cup match of the last wicket forming the highest partnership of an innings. The 22-run stand between Wahab Riaz and Mohammad Amir is the joint eleventh-lowest, highest World Cup partnership in one team's innings.
  • The 82 balls which West Indies took to reach their target is the ninth-quickest in the World Cup. It is also the fourth quickest between two Test playing countries.

MATCH 3 NEW ZEALAND VS. SRI LANKA AT CARDIFF

  • New Zealand's victory is the twelfth ten-wicket victory in the World Cup and their third.
  • New Zealand's victory (with 33.5 overs remaining) is the fourteenth-quickest World Cup victory and the third-quickest by ten wickets. New Zealand's ten-wicket victory over Kenya at Chennai in 2011 is the quickest, ten-wicket World Cup victory.
  • Sri Lankan captain, Dimuth Karunaratne, became the first captain in the World to carry his bat. Ridley Jacobs (49*) for West Indies vs. Australia at Old Trafford in 1999 is the only other player to carry his bat through a World Cup innings. Karunaratne is only the second captain to carry his bat through an ODI innings following fellow countryman, Upul Tharanga, against Pakistan in Abu Dhabi in 2017-18.
  • For the sixth time in their World Cup history, six New Zealand bowlers all took a wicket in the same innings. This has happened in the World Cup on twenty-two occasions.
  • Sri Lanka's 136 is the tenth-lowest World Cup total to include a fifty partnership.

MATCH 4 AUSTRALIA VS. AFGHANISTAN AT BRISTOL

  • The Afghanistan innings saw the fifth occasion in the World Cup of both opening batsmen being dismissed for ducks. England and New Zealand have twice had this happen to them.
  • The partnership of 83 between Gulbadin Naib and Najibullah Zadran is Afghanistan's highest for the sixth wicket at the World Cup.
  • Alex Carey became the second Australian and ninth wicket-keeper to make five dismissals in a World Cup innings.

MATCH 5 SOUTH AFRICA VS. BANGLADESH AT THE OVAL

  • The third-wicket partnership of 142 between Shakib al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim is Bangladesh's highest in the World Cup beating the 141 between Mahmudullah and Mushfiqur against England at Adelaide in 2015.
  • Bangladesh's 330 for 6 is their highest World Cup total surpassing their 322 for 4 against Scotland at Nelson in 2015.
  • Bangladesh's total is the joint twelfth-highest World Cup total after being asked to bat first by a fellow Test playing nation.
  • South Africa's 309 for 8 is the third-highest, second innings World Cup total in a losing cause.
