AFGHANISTAN vs IRELAND TEST MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
     
Afghanistan secured their first Test victory in only their second Test. They join Australia, England and Pakistan in winning their first Test after no more than two Tests. Below are some of the match highlights.

  1. The last wicket partnership of 87 between George Dockrell and Tim Murtagh for Ireland's last wicket in their first innings is only the fifth instance in Test cricket of a tenth wicket partnership doubling the total.
  2. Ireland provided only the fourth occasion of a side recording fifty partnerships for the tenth wicket in both innings of a Test.
  3. Tim Murtagh's 54 in Ireland's first innings is the fourth occasion of a number 11 batsman top scoring in a Test innings. Ashton Agar's 98 for Australia against England at Trent Bridge in 2013 remains the highest.
  4. Rahmat Shah became the first Afghan batsman to score a fifty in a Test and went on to make two in the Test. He narrowly failed to become Afghanistan's first centurion. CHECK
  5. Rashid Khan's 5 for 82 in Ireland's second innings is the first instance of an Afghan bowler taking five wickets in a Test innings.
  6. The 130-run, third-wicket partnership between Rahmat Shah and Hashmatullah Shahidi is Afghanistan's first century partnership in Test cricket.
  7. Dehradun became the 119th Test venue.
